as i wrote to one of the other reviewers, this cd is a great trip down memory lane. anyway, i bought these songs in 1988 and these songs jammed. i grew up and came of age in the 80sa nd yes, i did have a crushon these girls. i am 39 now. they were upbeat and danceable. i love it.
you will enjoy the cover girls first album show me.the songs are catchy and fun. show me because of you,love emergrncy,inside outside,spring love,and one night affair are some songs you will like. i highly recomend this album for you. ed wilson
cruising late at night after a school dance. The whole song is fairly long (about 7 minutes long), but its smooth rhythm and easy-to-remember lyrics make it an enjoyable song for me.
All three members are sizzling hot (especially back then), and their music sounded that much better because of it. If you grew up in the '80's, then you probably had a crush on one of the group's members at some point.
However, though both dance tunes were catchy and enjoyable, my favorite on this album was the smooth ballad, "Promise Me". "Show Me" was a popular dance tune during that time, and was considered one of the initial freestyle hits.
They followed up with "Becasuse Of You" which sounded similar, but sent a different message with its lyrics. Everytime I hear that song, I can't help but think back to my high school days.
You may not get as cheesy listening to this album as I do, but it's still a nice one to have in your old school collection.
This is the second Cover Girls album I bought. From the 50's styled that boy to the power hit promise me. I first heard of Show Me on the radio and I decided to get Show Me cause I liked the title track and because of you. Listen closely to the ballads on Show Me and you'll love them. It kind of reminded me of the Peter Cetera hit Glory of love and Lionel richie's say you say me. If you love the Cover Girls you'll love their debut album
I remember getting this album around 87/88, when good music was hard to come by. Although they had a "pop sound", it was obvious they were not White. MTV was just into it's toddler stages, and rock n roll was the only thing happening---well, that and teenyboppers like Tiffany and Debbie Gipson. I first heard one of their songs on the radio, and damn near fainted. But yet in still, I loved "Because of You," "Show Me" and "Love Emergency" "Spring Love" because of the uniqueness of their voices. Buy this album to reminisce if nothing else.
